Layered Drink Examples

Floating or Layering is the process of pouring different liquids in a glass in such a way that they produce a banded or unmixed appearance. Also often used for flaming cocktails or shooters.

The back of a spoon can be used to control the pour and provide more distinct layers.

Care must always be had to pour denser (heavier) liquids before lighter ones to prevent mixing.
